After a flashy intro courtesy of the guitarists, the track continues on the more melodic road throughout and some of the leads are quite marvellous. 5/5 Track 2: Failure This track pretty starts where the previous one left off. The drums and bass also impress after just one listen I was captivated by this band. Trevor Phipps is a pretty damn good singer (or growler for want of a better term). Heavy throughout with great riffs and breakdowns. Track 1: The Great Dividers This is a brilliant opening track and a typical Unearth song. So, enough with the introduction here is the review.
The album consists of 11 tracks and in my opinion each and every one is a good one. Unlike bands in the same genre, Unearth utilise 7-string guitars and the the onslaught of brutal noise is quite intense. Unearth are undoubtedly one of the better bands to emerge from the rapidly growing metalcore scene (otherwise known as the 'New Wave Of American Heavy Metal'.
